CUSTOMS & TARIFFS FEES

Shopping internationally is part of what makes Abundo special — but it also means customs and import duties can come into play. Here’s a clear breakdown of how this works, so there are no surprises.

1. What Are Customs Duties and Why Do They Exist?

When a product crosses an international border to reach you, the destination country’s government may charge an import duty or tax on it. This is separate from the price you pay Abundo — it’s a government charge, similar to how you might pay import tax bringing back goods from a duty-free trip.

For example: if you order a skincare product sourced from the UK and it’s being delivered to Saudi Arabia, the Saudi customs authority may apply a duty based on the product’s category and value before it’s released for delivery.

2. UAE Orders — You Pay Nothing Extra

If you’re shopping from the UAE, this is simple: Abundo covers all customs duties, import taxes, and tariffs on your behalf. The price you see at checkout is the final price — full stop. There is nothing more to pay when your order arrives, regardless of where the product was sourced from.

Example: You order a fragrance sourced from the US for AED 250 at checkout. Even if that item would normally attract an import duty crossing into the UAE, you will never see that charge — Abundo absorbs it.

3. KSA Orders — How Duties Apply

For deliveries to Saudi Arabia, customs duties and import taxes may apply depending on the type of product and its declared value.

We handle this in one of two ways:

  • Prepaid at checkout: If we’re able to calculate and display the duty in advance, you’ll see it added to your order total before you pay — so you know exactly what you owe, upfront.
  • Paid on delivery: If the duty can’t be calculated in advance (this can happen with certain product categories or higher-value items), the courier may collect this amount directly from you when your order arrives.

Example: You order a high-value electronics accessory delivered to Riyadh. At checkout, an estimated customs fee of SAR 15 is added and clearly shown before you confirm payment — no surprises at the door.

Another example: You order several smaller items in one shipment to Jeddah. Since the total order value is low, no customs duty applies, and the price at checkout is final.

4. What Affects the Size of a Customs Fee?

Where duties apply, the amount is typically influenced by:
  • Product category — for instance, electronics may be taxed differently than skincare
  • Declared value — a higher-value item generally means a higher potential duty
  • Shipping weight and package size
  • The specific tariff schedule of the destination country

5. Who Is Responsible for Customs Paperwork?

For KSA orders where duties aren’t prepaid, you are considered the “Importer of Record” — meaning you’re the person customs holds responsible for the shipment. In almost all cases, our courier partners handle this process for you automatically. Occasionally, customs may request a copy of your ID or proof of purchase — if this happens, our courier will reach out to you directly with clear instructions.

6. If Something Feels Off

If you’re ever asked to pay a customs fee that seems unusually high, unexpected, or wasn’t mentioned at checkout, don’t pay it on the spot if you’re unsure — contact our Support Team first at support@staging.abundo.store. We’ll investigate immediately and make sure you’re not being overcharged.

Returning an Unwanted Item?

We want you to love what you ordered. If you’ve simply changed your mind about an item, please note that Abundo’s return window is 7 days from the date of delivery (3 days for damaged, defective, or incorrect items).

To return an unwanted item:

  1. Contact our Support Team within 7 days of delivery.
  2. Ensure the item meets our Original Condition and Keep It Clean requirements.
  3. Once approved, we’ll provide instructions for returning the item.

Items returned after the 7-day window will not be eligible for a refund or store credit, and will be sent back to you. We’re unable to make exceptions to this window, so we recommend reviewing your order as soon as it arrives.

Original Condition

To qualify for a return, your item must be in the same condition you received it in. This means:

  • Unworn, unused, and unwashed
  • All original tags, labels, and protective stickers still attached
  • Original packaging, including manufacturer boxes, manuals, and warranty cards, included
  • Any accessories, freebies, or bonus items included with the original order

Items that show signs of wear, alteration, washing, or damage — or that are missing original tags or labels — cannot be accepted for return. If a returned item does not meet these conditions, we will send it back to you, and any shipping costs incurred for the return will be deducted from your refund or charged separately.

Keep It Clean

For health and safety reasons, certain items must be returned in pristine, unused, and hygienically sealed condition to be eligible for a refund or exchange. This applies especially to:
  • Cosmetics, skincare, and personal care items
  • Items that come into direct contact with skin, lips, or body (e.g., makeup, razors, intimate apparel, swimwear)
  • Hair tools, grooming devices, and similar personal-use products
If a product’s seal, hygiene strip, or protective packaging has been opened, broken, or removed, it is no longer eligible for return — even if unused. This policy protects the safety and confidence of all our customers, and we appreciate your understanding.
